Absence Policy
CPS Policy states that students can only be excused from school for the following reasons:
Absence Note Protocol
On the day that the student returns to school, they are required to bring a completed absence note from signed by his/her parent/guardians. Parents do not need to call the attendance office unless a student is going to be out for several days.
Early Dismissal Protocol
If a student is receiving an early dismissal, the student must be signed out by a legal guardian in the main office. Students are not allowed to leave campus without a guardian. If someone other than the guardian is picking up the student, prior arrangements should be made with the main office or your child’s teacher. Students will only be excused for early dismissals if they are signed out in the main office.
